Let's Read Together
This year, I want to read more books together as a community. Whether you’re looking to get back into reading or you’re a voracious reader, this book club is for you. I want to create a space for us all to connect and chat about books each month.
Here are the books I’m planning for us to read over the next few months:
February Book Club Pick: The Seven Daughters of Dupree by Nikesha Elise Williams (Book Club chat on March 1)
March Book Club Pick: Kin by Tayari Jones (Book Club chat on March 31)
April Book Club Pick: I Hope You Find What You’re Looking For by Bsrat Mezghebe (Book Club chat on April 30)
May Book Club Pick: Beloved by Toni Morrison (Book Club chat on May 31)
I’ll share the next few book club picks in a later post, and I welcome any suggestions for later in the year.
This is a no-pressure book club! Read these books at your own pace, and don’t worry about skipping a month. At the end of each month, we’ll chat about them in the comment section of the Substack post for that book. If you end up reading one of the books later in the year, feel free to come back to the post and add your reflections. (I’ll respond to every comment!)
If you decide to buy any of these books, I hope you’ll consider getting them from your local independent bookstore. Please remember that you can also check them out from your local library for free!
At the end of the year, I’ll share a post dedicated to this year’s book club picks for us to chat through our favorites, and I’m planning to do a giveaway of some of our book club selections. Let me know which book you’re interested in reading this year!
